WhatsApp service
Answers questions about cover, receipts and expiry dates, and opens claims. If the enquiry goes off script, it passes to a person with the context already gathered.
Claims, renewals, receipt reconciliation and policy reading stop depending on someone having a free moment. It runs on the WhatsApp and email you already use, without touching your ERP and with the regulatory fit resolved.
Hi. I had a bump with the car this morning leaving the car park. What do I do?
08:41Sorry to hear that. Is anyone injured? If not, I will open the claim right now. I need a photo of both vehicles and the other driver’s details.
08:41Nobody injured. Sending the photos.
08:43Received. Claim SIN-0241 opened and documentation attached. As soon as the insurer assigns a loss adjuster I will let you know here.
08:44None of this requires professional judgement. All of it requires time, and it is what stops you spending that time on the work that does.
The office WhatsApp with forty unread messages: a claim, a question about a receipt, someone asking whether their policy covers the windscreen.
Policy PDFs from eight different insurers, each with its own format, only to end up typing four fields by hand.
Renewals flagged whenever somebody remembers to check the expiry list.
Reconciling returned receipts at month end, client by client.
The pre-contractual paperwork for every transaction: producing it, delivering it and filing it with its date.
Claims half-way through, with nobody able to say from memory where each one stands.
All of this will keep happening. The difference is who does it and how long it takes.
This is not a generic assistant you have to teach the business to. It is built around the specific processes of an insurance brokerage.
Answers questions about cover, receipts and expiry dates, and opens claims. If the enquiry goes off script, it passes to a person with the context already gathered.
Extracts insurer, line of business, policyholder, premium, expiry date and cover from any PDF — scanned ones included — and pushes it wherever you need it.
Alerts with whatever notice you set and prepares the proposal. No more depending on someone reviewing the expiry list.
Opening the claim, collecting documentation and sending status updates to the client. At any moment you know where each file stands.
Detects returned payments, notifies the client and prepares the follow-up. Month end arrives already reconciled.
Prepares the IPID and the demands-and-needs test for each transaction, dated and filed, ready for the broker to review and deliver.
These are not scattered examples: it is the same morning at the same brokerage seen from each tab. Marta Serrano had a bump at 8:41 and you can follow the trail across all of them.
Automating a brokerage’s client service touches personal data, sometimes health data, and a regulated, supervised activity. This is what applies and what we do about each item. No generalities.
RDL 3/2020 (IDD directive) · DGSFP
ExigePre-contractual information, a demands-and-needs test, and advice given by a broker registered with the Spanish supervisor (DGSFP).
Lo resolvemosThe AI does not advise, does not recommend products and does not close transactions: that is reserved activity. It prepares the documentation and a person validates and delivers it, with a record of who and when.
GDPR (EU) 2016/679 and Spain’s LOPDGDD 3/2018
ExigeA data processing agreement, minimisation, control over sub-processors and individual rights.
Lo resolvemosDPA signed before touching any data, sub-processors declared in writing, only the data the process needs, and rights operational from day one.
GDPR article 22
ExigeNobody may be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that significantly affects them. In insurance that squarely covers risk acceptance and claims.
Lo resolvemosThere are no decisions taken by the machine alone. Accepting or declining, pricing and settling a claim always go through a person, and who decided and when is logged.
Special category · GDPR art. 9
ExigeLife, health, accident and funeral cover involve health data: reinforced protection and security measures to match.
Lo resolvemosA flow separate from everything else, restricted access, encryption and no leaving the EU. It is never cross-referenced with the rest of the book or used for anything else.
Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 · Annex III
ExigePricing and risk assessment with AI in life and health insurance is high risk. Everything else carries transparency obligations.
Lo resolvemosWe do not price or assess risk, and that is deliberate: that burden is not worth it for a brokerage. We stay in client service and documentation, with notice to the client and human oversight.
GDPR articles 33 and 34
ExigeAs controller you have 72 hours to notify the Spanish data protection authority (AEPD). The processor must inform you without undue delay so you can meet that deadline.
Lo resolvemosA written notification procedure with a specific channel and a specific person, not a generic inbox. We give you what the notification needs — which data, how many people affected, what measures — so you do not have to reconstruct it.
LSSI-CE 34/2002, article 21
ExigeCommercial communications by electronic means require prior consent. There is an exception for similar products already contracted by the same client, and always with a simple way to opt out.
Lo resolvemosWe separate service notices — an expiry date, the status of a claim — from commercial communication, which only goes to those it should. Every send carries its opt-out and the consent backing it is logged.
Ley 10/2010 · Life insurance
ExigeClient identification, retention of documentation and the ability to produce it on request.
Lo resolvemosDocumentation filed, dated and findable, with access logging. The obligated-entity duties remain yours; we give you the means to meet them.
BigShark is not an insurance broker or underwriting agency, does not carry out insurance mediation and does not provide legal advice. We implement the technical and organisational measures; formal validation of compliance rests with the brokerage’s management and its data protection officer, with whom we work closely during implementation.
An insurance book is among the most sensitive things a small business handles. These are the measures, and also what we do not do.
The insurer does not need to integrate with anything. The PDF you already receive and the WhatsApp you already have are enough.

The real ones, the ones that come up on the first call.
Four things you can check on this very page, without calling us. We publish our prices, from €149 a month, when the sector norm is to keep them for a meeting. We do not replace your management software: we connect to whatever you already use, so there is no migration and no risk of losing access to your book. We publish the regulatory fit rule by rule — insurance distribution, health data, automated decisions, the EU AI Act, electronic notifications and anti-money laundering — instead of just saying we comply with GDPR. And there is no minimum term on the Essential and Team plans, so the decision is reversible from the first month.
No, and that is a legal limit rather than a technical one. Advice and recommendation are activities reserved to a broker registered with the Spanish supervisor (DGSFP). The system prepares, organises and leaves the paperwork ready, and a person at the brokerage reviews, validates and delivers it. Any vendor who tells you otherwise is walking you into a problem.
No, because we do not price or assess risk with AI, which is exactly what the EU AI Act classifies as high risk in life and health insurance. What we implement is client service, documentation and administration, with transparency obligations and human oversight, which we do meet and document.
It is special category data under GDPR article 9 and is handled separately: a separate flow, restricted access, encryption and never leaving European infrastructure. It is not used for any other purpose or cross-referenced with the rest of the book. If your brokerage does not write those lines, those flows are never built.
No. We work on what you already have: the AI connects to your email, your WhatsApp, your PDFs and your calendar. If your management software has an API or supports imports, we push the data there; if not, we leave it in the format you use. Migrating systems is expensive, slow and the main reason these projects collapse.
We work on the WhatsApp Business API with the brokerage’s number. Exactly how the migration works depends on how you have it set up today, so it is one of the first things we look at in the demo, before committing to anything.
Liability for mediation remains with the brokerage, and precisely because of that the system is designed so that no decision with consequences goes out without a person validating it. Routine tasks are measured continuously and adjusted; sensitive ones always go through human review. Everything is logged too, so if what happened has to be reconstructed, it is documented.
In this order: a confidentiality agreement signed before accessing anything; a data processing agreement with sub-processors declared in writing; and the system built on anonymised documentation. Your real book does not come in until everything is tested and you have seen it working.
Three working days from the moment we have access, and the first two are worked on test documentation, not your book. If several linked processes are involved, allow a week. The launch is supervised: at first a person reviews every output, and control is relaxed as the system proves its accuracy.
Thirty days notice. You take your data in a standard format and we delete ours with a certificate of destruction. There is no minimum term on the Essential and Team plans and no exit cost.

Bring a couple of the policies that give you trouble and the process that takes most of your time. We tell you what can be automated, what cannot, what the legal implications are and what it costs. If it is not worth it, we will say so.
